Piper Glen is a master-planned community built around a private, Arnold Palmer–designed course that opened in 1988 and is operated today as TPC Piper Glen. Rather than one subdivision, it is a collection of individually named residential sections with mature landscaping, covenant-based architectural standards, and a location inside Charlotte's city limits near Ballantyne.

Prices vary widely with the lot, course or water frontage, size, age and renovation quality, and they move with the market. Discover Piper Glen does not publish price figures. Recorded sale prices are public records with Mecklenburg County, and a licensed North Carolina broker can prepare a comparative market analysis from current MLS data.

Access arrangements differ by section and can change. The club is private, and residential sections are governed by covenants and associations. Confirm the current arrangement for a specific street with the applicable association or its documents rather than assuming it applies community-wide.

Piper Glen is made up of named residential sections. This site has dedicated guides to five that are corroborated in public records — Glynmoor Lakes, Keswick, Linkside Village, Greenhurst and Old Course. Other mapped names include The Enclave, The Fairways and Stuart's Isle at Piper Glen. The recorded plat decides which section a lot belongs to.

Arnold Palmer's design practice laid out the course, which opened in 1988. It is now operated as TPC Piper Glen, part of the PGA TOUR's TPC network. From 1990 to 2001 it hosted the senior tour's PaineWebber Invitational, later the Home Depot Invitational.

TPC stands for Tournament Players Club, the PGA TOUR's network of owned and licensed golf clubs. The name describes the club's affiliation; it does not mean that homes in the surrounding community come with club access.

Piper Glen is served by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, which assigns students address by address and redraws boundaries periodically. CMS lists McAlpine Elementary, Jay M. Robinson Middle and Providence High as serving much of the area, but always confirm a specific home's assignment with the CMS address lookup. Independent options within a reasonable drive include Providence Day, Charlotte Latin and Charlotte Country Day.

TPC Piper Glen is a private club with its own membership process. Homeownership in Piper Glen neither includes nor guarantees membership, and the club sets its own eligibility, categories and terms. Ask the club's membership office directly about current availability and requirements for non-residents.

Alongside the golf course and practice facilities, the club operates a clubhouse with dining and offers racquet and recreation programs for members. Which facilities a given membership category includes changes over time, so confirm the current offering with TPC Piper Glen.

Piper Glen is an established, largely built-out community. Most activity is renovation, with occasional teardown-and-rebuild on individual lots. New construction and major exterior changes go through the applicable association's architectural review.

Piper Glen is in South Charlotte, with Uptown to the north. The community sits near I-485, which connects to I-77, I-85 and Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Drive times vary considerably by route and time of day, so check live directions for your commute.

Yes. Grocery, retail, dining and medical services are clustered along Rea Road and in the neighbouring Ballantyne and Blakeney areas, a short drive away. SouthPark and Uptown offer a wider range further north.

Most homes are substantial detached houses built from the late 1980s into the 2000s — brick and brick-with-stone elevations, pitched and gabled roofs, and traditional or transitional detailing — many since renovated. Architectural review covenants keep exterior changes consistent with the community's character.

Lot sizes vary from section to section and lot to lot. Exact dimensions and acreage are recorded on the subdivision plat and shown in Mecklenburg County's property records for each address.

Homes come to market one at a time, so most buyers work with a licensed local agent who knows the community's sections and governing documents. Before making an offer, review the recorded plat, the covenants and amendments, each association's budget and reserves, and the school assignment for the address.
