Accessibility Statement
Last updated 31 July 2026
Discover Piper Glen is committed to making this guide usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or captions. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing obligation, not a one-time project.
1. Our commitment
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. We also intend this site to be usable in a manner consistent with the accessibility expectations of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Fair Housing Act as they are applied to housing-related websites.
2. Measures we have taken
- Semantic HTML structure with a single, meaningful heading hierarchy on every page.
- Descriptive alternative text on informative images, and decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
- Full keyboard operability, with visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
- Text and interface colours chosen for contrast against their backgrounds.
- Captions and full written transcripts for every video on the site, including chapter navigation.
- Respect for the operating system's "reduce motion" preference: animations and page transitions are suppressed when it is set.
- Named landmarks, breadcrumb navigation, and descriptive link text rather than "click here".
- Layouts that reflow to small screens and remain readable when text is enlarged.
3. Known limitations
Some content may fall short of our target, and we would rather say so than claim perfection:
- The interactive neighbourhood map is a visual overview. Every place it marks is also reachable as ordinary text and links from the neighbourhood and map index pages, which we consider the accessible equivalent.
- Downloadable buyer's guide PDFs are generated documents; if you need one in a different format, ask and we will provide the content as accessible web text.
- Third-party sites we link to are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
4. Feedback and how to reach us
If you encounter a barrier on this site, or need any information here in an alternative format, please tell us through the contact form and describe the page and the problem. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days and to resolve confirmed barriers promptly. Your report is welcome and will be taken seriously.
5. Assessment approach
This site is evaluated through a combination of automated testing during development and manual review, including keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader checks. This statement is reviewed whenever the site changes materially.
